The incident took place today, July 30, in Donetsk Oblast. The equipment was sent for repairs. Fortunately, none of the rescuers were hurt. This was reported by Interior Minister Igor Klimenko on Telegram.
As the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted, the vehicle fleet of the State Emergency Service units includes 44 mechanized mine clearance vehicles, mainly Croatian DOK-ING and Swiss GCS. This equipment is actively involved in demining areas in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.
Klimenko emphasized that the use of equipment speeds up the process, because manual demining “would take hundreds of times longer with a huge risk for the pyrotechnicians.”
Let us recall that on July 8, a passenger car exploded on a Russian Mini in the Kharkiv region. The tragedy occurred when a family was driving along a road in the forest. As a result of the explosion, four people died, including a child.
