FBI to question Trump on assassination charge

Investigators will question the former president after saying they are not sure if his ear was injured by a bullet or its fragment.

US presidential candidate Donald Trump agreed to be questioned by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It will be conducted as part of the Pennsylvania rally shooting case. FBI spokesman Kevin Rojek said this during a briefing on Monday, July 29, Politico reports.

“We want to get his side of the story about what he observed. It’s a standard victim interview that we do for any other crime victim under any other circumstances,” Rojek said.

Trump’s announcement of his agreement to meet with investigators came after he sharply criticized the FBI’s investigation and even called on the Bureau’s director, Christopher Wray – his own appointee – to resign.

Trump was particularly angered by Wray’s suggestion in congressional testimony last week that it was unclear whether the former president’s ear was pierced by a bullet. The FBI released a statement Friday trying to soften the criticism, saying Trump was hit by a bullet or a “fragment of it.”

We remind you that the FBI has revealed new details of the assassination attempt on Trump.
