The US is trying to improve relations with India. However, despite the sanctions, Delhi continues to trade with Russia.

Ukraine needs a lasting and just peace. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced this on Sunday, July 28, during a meeting in Tokyo with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, according to the State Department website.

“Secretary Blinken emphasized the importance of achieving a just and lasting peace for Ukraine in accordance with the UN Charter,” the State Department said in a statement.

Blinken and Jaishankar’s social media posts mentioned their meeting but did not specify the topic of the war in Ukraine.

India has been known to refrain from directly criticizing Russia for its aggression in Ukraine and has called on the two countries to resolve the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang in Laos on the sidelines of ASEAN ministerial meetings.

Let’s recall that the United States has expressed concern about the development of relations between India and Russia against the backdrop of an all-out war in Ukraine. This is what US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said.
