The war criminal stated that important Russian state and military administration facilities, administrative and industrial centers and defense infrastructure would be within the missiles’ reach. The flight time to the targets would be about 10 minutes. This was reported by the Russian propaganda agency RIA Novosti.
We will take mirror measures to deploy them, taking into account the actions of the United States, its satellites in Europe and other regions of the world, the dictator threatened.
According to him, if the United States implements such plans, Russia will be considered free from the previously assumed “unilateral moratorium” on the deployment of medium- and shorter-range strike weapons, including increasing the capabilities of the Russian fleet’s coastal forces.
As is known, in 1987, the USSR and the USA signed an agreement that provided for the obligation to destroy all ground-based ballistic and cruise missile systems of medium (1,000 km – 5,500 km) and shorter (from 500 to 1,000 km) range. The parties also committed not to produce, test or deploy missiles in the future. The agreement was suspended in 2019 after mutual accusations of violating the provisions of the document.
Let us recall that the White House stated that it does not see any signs of Russia preparing to use nuclear weapons in a war against Ukraine. The US sees no reason to change the position of its own nuclear forces in response to these statements.
