Customs officials decided to inspect the car of a resident of Transcarpathia, involving a dog team. The service dog quickly detected the smell of tobacco.
At the Maly Berezny customs post on the Slovakian border, Transcarpathian customs officials found nearly two thousand packs of contraband cigarettes in a car with a double bottom. This was reported by the press service of the State Customs Service on Sunday, July 28.
A resident of Transcarpathia tried to leave Ukraine in his own car, using the “green corridor” and declared that he was not carrying hidden goods.
However, customs officials decided to conduct an inspection, involving a dog team. The service dog quickly detected the smell of tobacco.
After dismantling the interior trim, customs officials found 1,947 packs of contraband cigarettes. A protocol was made regarding violation of customs rules against women. The cigarettes and vehicle were seized and the case was sent to court.
