This applies to electricity generating equipment, wind and solar generating equipment; batteries, etc.
President Vladimir Zelensky signed laws that eliminate taxes and customs duties on the import of goods needed to manufacture or repair mechanized demining machines, as well as energy equipment. This was reported on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
Imports of electronic warfare equipment, tactical headphones for special military purposes and some parts for the production and repair of mine clearance vehicles are exempted from taxes and customs duties.
The bills also contain amendments to the exemption from duty and value added tax on the import of energy equipment to Ukraine, in particular:
-
power generation equipment;
-
equipment for wind and solar generation;
-
batteries (except low power batteries).
The bills also contain an amendment that exempts from taxes and duties on the import into Ukraine of equipment for the production of means to counter technical intelligence.
The laws will take effect on July 27, but the Cabinet of Ministers will still have a month to develop the regulatory framework necessary for their implementation. After that, it is possible to import equipment into Ukraine without duty and VAT.
Let’s remember that Zelensky previously signed a law on a single roaming zone with the EU. The president also signed legislation to simplify the processing of passports.
