In the commentary, the man said that he was serving, had not seen his son for a long time, and learned of his detention from his wife. This was reported by Radio Liberty.
I am at the front now, I haven’t seen my son in person for a long time, we talked regularly on the phone, – the man noted. – My wife called me today and said that my son had been detained. Whether it was a detention or an arrest – it’s also not clear here.
Not everything was so “smooth”: they kept his wife outside the apartment, took away his equipment, and tied up his son, he added.
According to the man, his son had no motive to kill Farion – he did not have any Ukrainophobic views and is a patriot.
On the contrary: he completed UAV control courses to join the Ukrainian army and played football, the detainee’s father noted.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the suspect, a resident of Dnipro, rented at least three apartments in Lviv while preparing to commit the crime. Commenting on this, the father of the detainee responded:
Where would he get the money for this? I send a few thousand, but it’s not enough.
Journalists were unable to speak with the detainee’s mother as her phone was switched off.
