People on the special register of gambling addicts cannot receive a loan from the bank.
The National Bank of Ukraine has banned making a consumer loan agreement with people included in a special register of gambling addicts who used credit funds to bet. The press service of the NBU reported this on Thursday, July 25.
From July 25, credit history bureaus that have entered into information cooperation agreements with the Gambling and Lotteries Regulatory Commission will have access to the Register of persons who have restricted access to gambling establishments or participation in gambling.
So, before concluding a consumer loan agreement, lenders should check the availability of information about a person in the Register by contacting a credit history bureau.
Credit history bureaus will provide creditors free of charge with information about persons who have restricted access to gambling establishments or participation in gambling, and their use of credit funds for placing bets.
“The Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lottery has already implemented organizational and technical measures to implement access to the credit history bureau in the register Information about people with limited access to gambling establishments and /o participation in gambling is placed in the register of the authorized body based on the results of consideration of the relevant statements,” said the National Bank.
In particular, commercial banks have begun to send messages about lending restrictions.
We remind you that despite the war, the banking sector of Ukraine is operating stably. Ukrainians have been putting more deposits in banks over the past three months, and bankers, in turn, are planning to cut interest rates on loans for small and medium-sized businesses.
