At the same time, they add that the strike further highlights “Russia’s inability to protect key facilities in an area that boasts a dense air defense deployment, approximately 80 km from the border with Ukraine.”
Russia cannot afford such losses given its strategy of war of attrition. Such an approach requires large quantities of ammunition. Russia currently relies on its limited foreign partners in this matter due to its defense intelligence, the British Ministry of Defense noted.
The warehouse covered nine square kilometers and was likely used to store surface-to-surface missiles and small arms.
