After the war in Ukraine, Putin will want to take revenge on the West, regardless of whether the Russian Federation wins or loses.
The British Army must be ready to go to war within three years against the Axis powers – Russia, China, Iran and North Korea. This was said by the commander of the country’s armed forces, General Sir Raleigh Walker, Sky News reported on Tuesday, July 23.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will emerge from his invasion of Ukraine as “very, very dangerous” and “want retribution” against Western countries that support Kyiv, Walker said. This situation can arise regardless of whether the Russian Federation wins or loses.
“The point is, when you think they (the Russians) are down, they roar back with a vengeance,” the general added.
He also allowed China to attack Taiwan, discussed Iran’s intentions to develop nuclear weapons and recalled the threat of North Korea.
According to him, all the four countries mentioned have established relations with each other, they exchange weapons and technology.
“That is why in 2027-28 this convergence can reach a kind of unity, and your ability to deal with them separately – with a specific crisis that can be handled through a system based on rules – I think will be significantly reduced,” Walker said.
At the same time, he noted that Britain was “not on an inevitable path to war” but urgently needed to rebuild a credible force to ensure deterrence.
But he also warned that the Army will lose if it clings to old ideas about war instead of adapting to new technologies that are changing the battlefield.
The key, given time constraints, General Volcker sees as innovation and adaptation to the use of autonomous weapons, artificial intelligence and other forms of new technology, as the Ukrainian army is doing against Russia.
“We have enough time to prepare, operate and ensure the restoration of credible forces on the ground to support the deterrence strategy,” the general said.
It was previously known that Britain would double its support for Ukraine. Starmer said this at a meeting of the British government, which was attended by Zelensky.
