The blogger-provocateur implicated seven other accomplices in information and subversive activities in favor of Russia.
The security service neutralized a group in Kyiv, Odessa, Kharkov and Transcarpathian regions that worked to disrupt the mobilization and “leaked” data from the Ukrainian military. The SBU press service reported this on Tuesday, July 23.
One of the organizers of the criminal group is the former host of popular Ukrainian television projects, and now a well-known blogger who spreads pro-Kremlin narratives. According to media reports, we are talking about propagandist Zhan Novoseltsev.
He was with seven other accomplices in information and subversive activities in favor of Russia. Among them are pseudo-experts, administrators of online communities and video editing specialists.
According to the investigation, the defendants called for armed resistance against TCC employees and law enforcement agencies, and also spread fake news about Ukrainian defenders.
In order to widely spread provocative content, the attackers created their own network of channels and pages on YouTube, Telegram and Facebook with a total audience of more than 600 thousand users. On these Internet resources, the defendants streamed and published messages with videos in which they taught about forceful methods of avoiding conscription.
They also created a website where they leaked personal data of Ukrainian military personnel, mainly TCC representatives and law enforcement officials.
To cover up their subversive activities, members of the group posed as journalists using the identity of unregistered publications. The defendants organized their criminal actions through a specially created anonymous messenger chat.
During searches of their residences, computer equipment and mobile phones were found red-handed.
Currently, two organizers of the group are in jail: a blogger and his pseudo-expert accomplice. SBU investigators informed them of the suspicion of obstructing the legitimate activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations.
The criminal actions of two other pseudo-experts of the specified group controlled by the Internet network are classified under the same article.
The issue of reporting suspicion on all other defendants is being resolved. The investigation is ongoing. The perpetrators face up to eight years in prison.
We remind you that young people are detained in Lvov who, on instructions from the Russian FSB, are preparing a series of arson attacks on the vehicles of Ukrainian soldiers.
