A Palestinian teenager died of his wounds Saturday night after being shot dead by Israeli soldiers hours ago on the occupied West Bank. Mohammad Hamad, 16, was shot dead by Israeli soldiers near the village of Silvad near Ramallah, north of the West Bank, and died hours later, a source told Silvad’s adviser to Palestinian security sources. The Israeli military did not immediately comment.
The teenager was on the road leading to the settlement of Ofra near Silvad when he was wounded by Israeli soldiers, a council member said.
Since late March, Israeli security forces have stepped up operations in the occupied West Bank, Israel, following a series of Palestinian-Israeli attacks on the West Bank that killed 19 people, mostly civilians.
