Under the procedural leadership of the prosecutor’s office of autonomy, the suspicion was reported to the former first deputy head of the Main Directorate – head of the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The press service of the prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol reported this on Tuesday, July 23.
The suspect was charged with treason. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
It was established that after the occupation of the peninsula, the suspect changed his oath of loyalty to the people of Ukraine and went into service with the enemy. He received the position of “Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea – Head of the Investigation Department.”
It is emphasized that through his actions and decisions the suspect contributed to the creation and functioning of the occupation forces on the peninsula, and also assisted the representatives of the aggressor state in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine.
