Refugees in Poland living in collective centers will be given money for separate housing and help finding a job.
Poland has launched a program to support Ukrainian refugees worth more than 22 million euros. The project, called “Together for Independence,” aims to help 6,000 Ukrainians move from living in collective centers to independent living.
The initiative is a joint effort of the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration, the Polish Red Cross and PCPM. Funding for the program is 90% provided by the European Commission.
Ukrainian refugees with a PESEL UKR number living in collective centers can become participants in the project. The program provides not only financial support, but also comprehensive integration assistance:
-
Co-financing of relocation costs for 6 months
-
Individual career consultations
-
Job search help
-
Polish courses
-
Cultural events and integration
It is planned that the program will work until March 31, 2026. The rules for participation in the program and conditions for using support are still being worked out. Details will be published soon on the websites of the project implementers.
It was previously reported that Hungary has changed the rules for providing housing to Ukrainian refugees.
