The White House said NBC News falsely reported that the Biden family was discussing a plan for him to withdraw from the presidential race.
US President Joe Biden is set to resume participating in campaign events suspended due to the coronavirus next week. The Washington Times wrote about this on Friday, July 19, citing a statement by the American leader himself.
“Biden vowed to continue his campaign even after at least 30 Democratic lawmakers called for him to step down, with some saying the president could drop out as early as this weekend,” said of the newspaper.
Biden is currently in quarantine while recovering from the coronavirus.
“I look forward to getting back on the campaign trail next week to continue to expose the threat of Donald Trump’s Project 2025 while making the case for my own record and the vision I have for an America where we save our democracy, we will protect our rights and freedom and create opportunities for all,” the president stressed.
Meanwhile, the White House called NBC News’ unreliable report that the Biden family was allegedly discussing a plan for his withdrawal from the presidential race.
According to campaign chairman Jen O’Malley Dillon, Biden will return to the campaign trail next week after completing his isolation due to symptoms of COVID-19.
“He was everywhere,” she told CNN.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden said he was ready to withdraw from the presidential race if he had serious health problems. Subsequently, the US Democratic National Committee decided to postpone the nomination of President Joseph Biden as a candidate for the post of head of state for a week.
