Some countries hosting refugees from Ukraine are reducing their support programs, in particular, it concerns free housing.
From August 21, Hungary will provide subsidized housing only to Ukrainians arriving from 13 regions most affected by military operations. UNHCR in Hungary reported this on Friday, July 19.
It is indicated that residents of Kyiv region and Kyiv, Zaporozhye, Chernigov, Kharkov, Sumy, Odessa, Nikolaev, Donetsk, Kherson, Lugansk, Zhitomir, Dnepropetrovsk and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, after documenting their place of residence, are able to receive subsidized housing in Hungary.
“Subsidized housing is provided for one month if the person does not have a registered temporary protection status. Such housing is provided by municipalities or the service of the Order of Malta. The accommodation also includes free food,” said message.
The right to subsidized housing remains if the person registers at a temporary protection center one month after arriving in Hungary. This method is not mandatory only for children under 18 years old, pregnant women, people with disabilities, and people over 65 years old.
Earlier it was known how happy Ukrainian refugees are in life in the European Union. Citizens currently living in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic were interviewed.
Let us remind you that about 70% of Ukrainian refugees are planned to stay in Europe. Almost half of Ukrainians work in European countries.
