Tehran is rapidly increasing the potential of this technology. Blinken clarified that Iran has not yet developed nuclear weapons.
Iran is capable of producing fissile material used in nuclear weapons “within a week or two”, underscoring concerns about the country’s nuclear program. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said this at the Aspen Security Forum in Colorado, European Pravda reports.
“Instead of being at least a year away from a breakthrough in the production of fissile material for nuclear weapons, it (Iran – ed.) is probably a week or two away from that,” he said .
Blinken added that due to the collapse of the so-called Iran nuclear agreement, Tehran is now rapidly increasing the capabilities of this technology. He clarified that Iran has not yet developed nuclear weapons.
Iran is “weeks rather than months” from having enough enriched uranium to build an atomic bomb. This is what the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi said.
Earlier, the media reported that Iran’s nuclear program was military-oriented. Information from the intelligence services of the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and Denmark indicates that Tehran has plans to create nuclear weapons.
