The world experienced a global IT failure. The cause of the failure was an update to an antivirus program produced by Crowdstrike, which disrupted the operation of Microsoft computer systems around the world.
Such large-scale consequences are caused by a conflict between the latest version of the Crowdstrike software and the Windows operating system.
Microsoft said the incident was not the result of a hacker attack and did not threaten customers’ personal data.
Mass flight cancellations
On Friday morning, airports around the world began canceling flights en masse due to the failure of the computer systems of both airlines and support services.
Major US airlines, including Delta and United, have announced a complete halt to flights in the near future. Britain’s rail companies are also facing problems.

The cause of the commotion on a global scale is the company Crowdstrike, whose headquarters are located in Austin, Texas, and whose shares are traded on the US stock exchange.
Like many modern IT companies, it did not exist for very long – only 13 years, but today the company has about 8,500 employees.
As a rule, clients turn to Crowdstrike services to eliminate the consequences of hacker attacks on their servers. In particular, in 2014, he investigated the hacking of Sony Pictures’ computer system.
However, this time, due to a software update error, the company that usually solves computer problems caused them to appear.

Among Ukrainian companies, Nova Poshta, Vodafone, Sense Bank and Monobank reported failure.
NP post offices stopped their work, however, the company assured that the reasons for the failure have been clarified, and therefore the work of the branches will be resumed in the near future.
Sense Bank also confirmed temporary technical problems. Reflection of cards and accounts, money transfer and exchange, payment for services, opening of deposits and loans, etc.
