Before the second reading, the wording of some of the document’s provisions was expanded; in particular, Article 3 now states:
Considering that the Russian Orthodox Church is an ideological continuation of the regime of the aggressor state, an accomplice to war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in the name of the Russian Federation and the ideology of the “Russian world”, the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine are prohibited.
The Committee recommends that the Verkhovna Rada adopt the bill as a whole.
Currently, the Verkhovna Rada is collecting signatures for a bill to ban the UOC-MP in Ukraine.
146 deputies do not support the bill, and 226 signatures are required to bring it to the floor and vote on it.
