The Shevchenko District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for the former intelligence officer Roman Chervinsky in the case of a bribe of 100 thousand dollars. Suspilne reported it.
The court granted the requests of prosecutors who proposed house arrest for Chervinsky.
During the court hearing, people’s representatives Petro Poroshenko, Irina Gerashchenko, Victoria Syumar and former political prisoner Vladimir Balukh announced their desire to take Chervinsky out on bail.
We remind you that the former intelligence officer was released from the pre-trial detention center on bail in the amount of 9 million hryvnia just yesterday, July 17.
As you know, Roman Chervinsky is a defendant in the case of a Russian strike on an airport near Kropyvnytskyi.
According to the investigation, the former intelligence officer, along with other people, arbitrarily decided to conduct a so-called “special operation” – to take possession of a Russian military aircraft. The pilot from the Russian Federation apparently agreed to the offer to go to the Ukrainian side. This operation was carried out despite the refusal of the SBU and without the consent of the relevant government authorities.
As a result, the Russians received information about the deployment of Air Force personnel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Ukrainian aircraft at the Kanatovo airfield, and this allowed the Russian Armed Forces to open fire on the airfield. Because of this, one soldier died and 17 were injured. Two Ukrainian Air Force fighters were also completely destroyed, and the runway and other equipment and buildings received significant damage.
In April 2023, Chervinsky was placed under suspicion under the article of abuse of power or official authority by a military officer. The court arrested him.
In December 2023, Roman Chervinsky is suspected of attempting to extort $100,000 by posing as an official of the State Fiscal Service.
