Two drones attacked Iraq’s Ain al-Assad air base, which houses US troops and other international forces. One of them was shot down by an air defense system, Reuters reports.
No military personnel were killed as a result of the air attack. No injuries were reported.
The attack came less than a week before an Iraqi military delegation visited Washington to continue negotiations to end the US-led military coalition in the country.
It was the second attack on US forces in Iraq since early February, when Iran-backed groups in Iraq halted their attacks on US troops.
