A transgender says she is kidnapping because she wants to have a child she will never have.
In the Poltava region, police detained a man dressed as a woman who stole a newborn baby from a perinatal center. The National Police reported this on Tuesday, July 16.
It is known that a woman was seen on the surveillance camera leaving the establishment with a large package. But investigators established that the attacker was a transsexual man.
“The detainee explained his action by saying that he wanted a child, which he could not give birth to, so he did everything to the child, the law enforcement officers returned the baby to the mother at the perinatal center. ” said the police.
Based on this fact, a pre-trial investigation is conducted in proceedings opened under the articles of kidnapping of a minor and official negligence leading to serious consequences (Part 3 of Article 146 and Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code).
Police investigators are preparing a petition about the notification of suspicion to the person involved and the choice of a preventive measure for him – the detention.
For the crime, the 25-year-old kidnapper faces 5 to 10 years behind bars.
