American military pilots completed a non-stop round-the-world flight in an air tanker in 45 hours.

The KC-46A Pegasus took off from McConnell Air Force Base in Kansas on June 29 and landed at the 22nd ARW base in Kansas on July 1. The crew flew more than 24,000 miles (over 40 thousand km).
The crew of nine pilots demonstrated the endurance of the Air Force’s newest tanker aircraft.
En route west, the aircraft refueled in mid-air four times from tankers stationed at Anderson Air Force Base, Guam; U.S. Central Command; and RAF Mildenhall, England.
The aircraft also delivered fuel to eight other aircraft during the trip, including B-2 Spirit bombers flying out of Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo.
According to the Air and Space Forces publication, the Magellan project is a response to threats of conflict with China.
