20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks may be involved in the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, AP reports, citing the FBI.

His motives and political leanings are not yet clear. Crooks was registered as a Republican voter in Pennsylvania, but federal campaign finance records also show that he gave $15 to a progressive political action committee on the day President Biden was sworn in.
The FBI noted that the investigation is still ongoing and called on anyone with information that could help in the investigation to provide it.
Crooks, who was reported by reporters, lived in a Pittsburgh suburb about 35 miles from the site of Trump’s rally and graduated from Bethel Park High School two years ago.
CNN attempted to contact Crooks’ father. He said he was trying to figure out “what the hell is going on” and was waiting to speak with law enforcement before talking about his son.
Crooks had no identification at the time of the attack. He was wearing a T-shirt with the logo of the YouTube channel Demolition Ranch. The blog has 11 million subscribers and is dedicated to firearms. After users noticed the logo, the founder of Demolition Ranch posted a photo of the dead Crooks with the caption:
