In the Czech Republic, for the first time, a local resident has been sentenced for violating anti-Russian sanctions.

Czech Radio reported this today, July 13.
It is noted that the convicted person, Russian-born businessman Vladimir Likhutin, attempted to secretly export three premium Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW cars to the Russian Federation in May 2022. At the same time, the export of cars worth more than 50 thousand euros from the EU to the Russian Federation, with the exception of ambulances, has been prohibited since March 2022.
According to the court’s verdict, which has already entered into force:
- Lihutin must pay a fine of 300 thousand crowns for the offense committed;
- he is prohibited from trading in motor vehicles for 20 months;
- He is also obliged to pay the state approximately 132 thousand euros, which he received from Russian clients as advance payments for the said vehicles.
