The Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is aware of attempts on the life of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. The head of the department, Kirill Budanov, said this in an interview for NV, published on Saturday, July 13.
“They (attempts to kill Putin – ed.) were made, but, as you can see, they are also unsuccessful so far,” said Budanov.
And when asked if Vladimir Putin is not such a compromise figure for his circle and “an arbitrator who suits everyone,” he said that “it’s not about compromise for a long time.”
As an example, Budanov recalled the stories of his grandmother, who witnessed the death of Joseph Stalin.
“He said that people then thought that their whole world was collapsing; it was not clear how to live. losing him, because he was their guarantor of the stability of life,” added the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
Earlier, Kirill Budanov said that “representatives of the Caucasus” attempted to kill Putin at the beginning of the Russian Federation’s all-out war against Ukraine, but the attempt was unsuccessful.
The Main Intelligence Directorate also explained why Vladimir Putin is “still alive”.
