The leadership of Ukrainian cities needs to install alternative energy sources to ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical infrastructure facilities. This statement was made by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, who familiarized himself with the work of one of the city’s energy facilities in Kharkiv. This was reported in the head of government’s Telegram.
It is noted that four cogeneration gas piston units with a total capacity of 6 MW were installed on its territory. This will allow heat to be supplied to residents of Kharkov in the event of a power outage.
The head of government noted that negotiations are currently underway with partners on the installation of additional gas turbine units.
I call on other cities to also install alternative energy sources to ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical infrastructure facilities. The government, for its part, will continue to support the regions, he urged.
Recall that on July 11, DTEK reported that Ukrainians will be without power for longer than usual. The strict power outage schedules will be due to the abnormal heat, which puts additional strain on the power grid and has been seriously damaged by Russians over the past four months.
