The money provided under the World Bank grant will be used to purchase the necessary equipment and carry out work to ensure that Kharkiv residents are warm in winter. Work is also underway to strengthen the protection of energy facilities and restore the operation of the thermal power plant. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported this on July 12 in Telegram following a trip to the Kharkiv region.
The head of government also inspected the process of building fortifications in the Kharkiv region. Shmyhal recalled that this year UAH 5.9 billion was allocated for the construction of defense lines in this region.
In addition, during a visiting session in Kharkiv Oblast, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to allocate an additional UAH 6.8 billion for the implementation of the “Restoration” program. Of these funds, UAH 2.4 billion will be allocated for the repair of Ukrainians’ housing. Another UAH 4.4 billion will be allocated to finance housing certificates.
According to the Prime Minister, thanks to the “Restoration” program, the authorities helped restore housing for almost 20 thousand families in the Kharkiv region.
Let us recall that Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal called on the authorities of Ukrainian cities to install alternative energy sources to ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical infrastructure facilities.
