Early in the film, we discover that Uma (China Anne McClain) became the headmistress of Auradon. As her first plan, Ursula’s daughter reveals to the Fairy Godmother (Melanie Paxson) who has a desire to make the school accept children from all kingdoms — including Wonderland.

Surprised by the decision, the Fairy Godmother asks Uma if she was sure of what she was saying. In response, the new director says with teary eyes that this is what Carlos would have wanted done, asking her to do it as a tribute to him.

Although it does not explain what happened to the character, it is possible to understand from the conversation between the two that, just like CameronCarlos must also have died in the “Descendants” universe.

Already Malia BakerChloe, reflected on the scene, saying that the moment is a way of admiring him.

“That scene is the one thing that stays true to the core of what this next generation is about. He’s a part of it in the same way he’s a part of all of us now, of looking at him and being able to admire him and his work and who he was as a person. He really had such a light and aura that I think he was vibrating on set. We could all feel it.”
