The Russian president accepted an invitation to attend the G20 summit in Indonesia, to which Zelensky was also invited.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted Indonesia’s invitation to attend the G20 summit in November, which is also expected to be attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Yes, we have confirmed that our participation is expected,” Putin’s aide Yury Ushakov said on Monday, June 27.
However, he did not give a definite answer about the format in which Putin will participate in the summit.
“I don’t know, they’re still inviting in person, but there’s still a lot of time, I hope the pandemic will allow this important forum to be held in person, but I’m just afraid to guess,” Ushakov said.
The G20 Heads of State Summit is scheduled for November 15-16 in Bali. So, Zelensky and Putin may meet at this summit, but do not know what format.
The other day, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, opposed the idea of boycotting the G20 summit because of Putin’s participation.
