From 16:00 to 23:00, four stages of shutdowns will be in effect, and three stages during other hours, the press service of Ukrenergo reported.
The reason is a significant increase in consumption due to abnormal heat in Ukraine and Europe against the backdrop of a significant energy deficit in the system, which is a consequence of Russian terrorist attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector, the company notes.
It is indicated that the temperature in the country exceeds +30°C.
According to the forecast of the Ukrenergo Dispatch Center, today at the maximum consumption is 7% higher than yesterday’s similar figure, Ukrenergo notes.
Yesterday, July 10, from 19:00 to 23:00, in order to reduce the volume of the deficit, Ukrenergo attracted emergency supplies from the energy systems of Poland and Slovakia.
As of this morning, 510 populated areas remain without power. Of these:
- due to bad weather there is a power outage in Sumy region;
- due to military actions there are power outages in Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Sumy, Kharkov, and Kherson regions;
- for technical reasons – consumers in Rivne, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Sumy regions were de-energized. The technical reasons for the shutdown are related to the effect of heat on high-voltage equipment and power lines, and are also the consequences of military operations in the frontline regions.
