The US President opposes potential attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces using US weapons deep into Russian territory.
Ukraine should have the right to strike on Russian territory, as it is provided for by the right of self-defense. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced this on Wednesday, July 10, writes European Pravda.
He emphasized that this is a war of conquest, Russia attacked its neighbor and violated international law.
“According to international law, Ukraine has the right to self-defense, we help Ukraine realize its right to self-defense by providing weapons and equipment, including long-range missiles, in particular that ATACMS,” said Stoltenberg.
He welcomed the US decision to reduce restrictions on the use of long-range missiles on Russian territory, as Russia again attacked the Kharkov region and fighting began to take place along most of the front line.
Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics called on the allies to discuss at the summit in Washington the need to allow Ukraine to use all transferred weapons without any restrictions.
President Vladimir Zelensky thanked the United States for the new Patriot systems, but noted that they are not enough.
