At the NATO summit in Washington, apparently, there was no formal invitation to Ukraine to join the Alliance, the Polish leader believes.
Ukraine is likely to receive an invitation to NATO at the next meeting of Alliance member countries in The Hague in June 2025. This is what Polish President Andrzej Duda said on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Washington on Wednesday, July 10.
According to the Polish leader, at this NATO summit, apparently, there was no formal invitation to Ukraine to join the Alliance.
“But I hope, and I will talk about it in my speeches, that it will become a reality at the next summit, which will be held in The Hague,” said Duda.
It was previously reported that the draft declaration that NATO allies may use in Washington indicates that Ukraine’s future lies with the Alliance. And the invitation will be sent when the allies agree and the necessary conditions are met.
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said that the Alliance at the current summit agreed to fix the irreversible process of Ukraine’s integration into NATO.
