The former head of the Supreme Court, Vsevolod Knyazev, was caught 1 km from the Romanian border in Transcarpathia. Journalist Vitaly Glagola reported this on Wednesday, July 10, citing sources.
According to him, Knyazev was detained by border guards in the village of Solotvyno in the Transcarpathian region.
“Knyazev is in the Solotvyno border service department. The purpose of his stay near the state border has been clarified and the version of a possible attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine is being examined,” the journalist said.
Glagola added that the former head of the Armed Forces was traveling in a Voskswagen car as a passenger.
It is known that Knyazev lost his position as chairman of the Supreme Court after being imprisoned by NABU for a bribe of $2.7 million. in May 2023. He was recently released on bail of 18 million UAH, and his electronic bracelet was removed because “there was no light” in the house.
It was previously reported that the High Anti-Corruption Court reduced the bail amount for former Supreme Court chairman Vsevolod Knyazev, as reported in the operative part of the court’s decision. Thus, VAKS partially granted the lawyer’s request and reduced Knyazev’s bail from 75 million hryvnias to 55 million hryvnias.
