The visit by North Korean troops was the first military exchange between the two countries since their leaders signed an agreement on closer military cooperation. The plane carrying the troops took off on Monday, July 8, Reuters reported.
The delegation from Pyongyang is led by Kim Il Sung Military University President Kim Kum Chol.
The university was named after the founder of the DPRK and is a training ground for elite military officers.
Let us recall that the South Korean channel TV Chosun, citing a representative of its government, reported that the DPRK plans to send engineering forces to the occupied Donbass in July, allegedly to “assist in the restoration of infrastructure.”
The Pentagon later said it could not confirm the information about sending North Korean troops to Ukraine.
