The left-wing coalition New Popular Front (NFP) took first place in the election results. President Macron’s coalition Together! took second place, and Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Rally won third place, Le Monde reported.
According to the results of the second round:
- “New Popular Front” – 182 seats in parliament;
- “Together!” – 168 seats;
- “National Association” – 143 seats;
- “Republicans” – 63 seats.
As is known, there are 577 seats in the French parliament in total. The remaining seats will be distributed among other candidates.
As a reminder, experts believe that the election results could impact support for Ukraine, global diplomacy and the EU’s economic stability, and could also weaken Macron’s influence in his final years as president.
