The support package includes a quarter of a million rounds of ammunition and nearly 100 Brimstone precision-guided missiles.
New British Defense Minister John Gealey announced an additional military aid package to Ukraine during a visit to Odessa. This was reported by the press service of the British government on Sunday, July 7.
Following a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky and talks with Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Healy announced that the UK would provide Ukraine with a new support package that would include more artillery, a quarter of a million rounds of ammunition and nearly 100 precision-guided Brimstone missiles .
“There may be changes in government, but the UK is united in its support for Ukraine. As the new defense secretary, I will ensure that we strengthen the UK’s support by increasing the supply of vital military aid,” Healey said.
The new package includes:
-
a quarter of a million 50-caliber bullets;
-
90 Brimstone anti-tank missiles;
-
50 small military boats to support river and coastal operations;
-
40 mine clearing vehicles;
-
10 AS-90 artillery pieces;
-
61 bulldozers to help build defensive positions.
The UK will also transfer 32 new barrels and critical spare parts for the previously supplied AS-90, which will allow the production of another 60 thousand 155-mm shells.
In addition, Healey ordered to speed up the delivery of the military aid package promised in April to Ukraine, to be delivered in full over the next 100 days.
Let’s recall that earlier the UK and Latvia announced a tender for the purchase of attack drones for Ukraine.
