The head of the joint coordinating press center of the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, Natalya Gumenyuk, in a briefing, named the factors hindering the operation to liberate Kherson.
“Unfortunately, some elements of hope (about the liberation of Kherson-ed.) And very emotional hope have significantly damaged the way we progress. Too happy and premature messages-the this is very inappropriate when a military operation is being conducted, ”she noted.
According to Gumenyuk, the operation takes place in open areas, and it also complicates the advance of Ukrainian troops.
“The terrain of the steppe is very difficult for open combat. In addition, the ratio to artillery does not allow us to be as far away from the enemy. We need to consider this. In order for us to report some significant victories , we need to drive the enemy too far so that it does not occupy our positions, ”said an OK South representative.
Gumenyuk appealed to officials and public figures with a request not to rush into making statements about the operation.
