Power outages continue in Ukraine, caused by the consequences of Russia’s attack on Ukrainian power plants.
The most difficult situation with light is formed in front-line areas. Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Energy Svetlana Grinchuk spoke about this on Saturday, July 6, at Mi-Ukraine.
He explained that the damage to the network is greatest there, due to the fact that the Russians are constantly stabbing the territories.
“Very often we have damage to the energy infrastructure, overhead lines, networks are more difficult there, because it is not always safe for power engineers to work,” he said.
According to Grinchuk, the electricity situation throughout the country continues to be difficult and recalled that the Russians, since March of this year, have carried out numerous attacks on energy infrastructure facilities.
“Because of this, there is now a shortage in the system unfortunately, we all have to endure hourly outages, sometimes emergency outages,” explained the deputy minister.
Kyiv managed to restore two-thirds of its own generating capacity after Russia’s shelling.
It was previously reported that July will be the most difficult period for the Ukrainian energy system. Currently, nuclear power plants are undergoing scheduled maintenance.
And this week it became known when the light situation in Ukraine can improve. Ukrenergo announced the completion of repairs to some generating equipment.
