The department noted that due to the alarm, the forces of the Air Police Service were raised. Also, to monitor the situation, two F-16 aircraft of the Romanian Air Force were scrambled from the 86th Borcea Air Base.
“Following the alert issued by the authorities, around 7:30 in the morning, the Ministry of National Defense issued an order to conduct search operations in the area between the settlements of Vulturul, Mahmudiya and Malysh in case of things that fell in the country ,” the statement said.
However, as the ministry said, the teams sent to the site did not find anything suspicious.
“Searches will continue throughout the day,” the Romanian defense ministry added.
Due to Russia’s war against Ukraine, Romania refused to grant visas to the entire Russian delegation for the session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which will be held in Bucharest.
