The leaders of the two countries discussed the preparation of an “unprecedented 100-year agreement” between Ukraine and the UK.
President Vladimir Zelensky had his first telephone conversation with newly appointed British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Friday, July 5. The Ukrainian head of state announced this on his Telegram channel.
He congratulated Starmer on his election victory and wished the British people’s aspirations to be successfully realized from the new government.
The British Prime Minister assured that Britain’s support for Ukraine will remain fundamental.
“We coordinated positions before the NATO summit in Washington and other international events and discussed the continuation of bilateral cooperation, in particular, the preparation of an unprecedented 100-year agreement between Ukraine and the UK ,” Zelensky added.
Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky congratulated Keir Starmer and the British Labor Party on their convincing election victory.
