The Center for Countering Disinformation states that the Russians’ goal is to spread fake “peace plans.”
Russia is now conducting an information operation called “Operation Peace”, the purpose of which is to dilute the Ukrainian formula for peace in the countries of the West and the Global South. The Center for Combating Disinformation (CDC) reported this on its Telegram channel.
The first signs of such an operation were the appearance of a large number of fake peace plans with various proposals, as well as conspiracy theories about “starting secret negotiations.”
This information agenda is spread both by propagandists within the Russian Federation and by experts on information platforms in Asian, Middle Eastern and Western countries, says the head of the Center for Public Policy Andrei Kovalenko and reminds whose “initiatives for peace” were also commented on by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin himself.
“The main logic of the actions of the Russians is to create “white noise”, to work on the part of society that is ready for peace at any cost,” explained the official.
Russia is not ready for a just peace and continues to increase its capabilities for further war. At the same time, with the help of such fakes, he wants to create the illusion that Ukraine does not want peace.
The only sign of Russia’s readiness for peace is the presence of its representatives at the second peace summit, Kovalenko believes.
We would like to remind you that earlier the Center for Police Disputes rejected the fake news about the fighting in the Sumy region.
