The High Anti-Corruption Court found six people guilty of embezzlement of state property worth more than UAH 259 million: they are obliged to pay damages to the state and transfer funds in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the VAKS press service.
“The panel of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court approved the plea agreements concluded between the SAPO prosecutor and six defendants in the case of the allocation of property (funds) of a state-owned enterprise to a certain large scale and the laundering of such funds,” the statement said.
Economic Truth reported that among the defendants in this case are the brother of the ex-chairman of the Yanukovych-era State Investment Project, Vladislav Kaskov, Alexander and the ex-deputy chairman of the State Investment Project, Sergei Shut, who is considered a co-organizer, Yuriy Lutak, the former head of the State Investment Company, who signed loan agreements for UAH 259 million , as well as the former chairman of the investment committee Andrei Lemish.
The court decided that the accused must pay damages in the amount of UAH 259.2 million to the state budget within 6 months from the date of the court’s approval of the plea agreements.
In addition, two of the accused, who are the organizers of the crime, must, within one month from the moment the sentence enters into legal force, transfer UAH 1,650,000 each in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is reported that each of them transferred UAH 2,500,000 on the date of the judgment. Another defendant contributed an additional 200,000 UAH.
The rest of the defendants assured that the court received the consent of the pledgers to transfer the full amount of the bail paid for them in the amount of UAH 4,643,000 in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
