From July 9 to July 24, the shutdown schedules will be changed in all regions. In each region, there will be no restrictions on one day for two weeks.

On other days, consumption restrictions will occur according to schedules, Ukrenergo reported.
The department explained that this is necessary in order to measure actual consumption in each region.
Such measurements are carried out annually – in winter and summer – and allow us to more accurately predict the operating modes of the country’s energy system.
In the absence of massive attacks on energy infrastructure, the approximate schedule of regime measurements is as follows:
- July 9: Dnepropetrovsk region;
- July 10: Kyiv;
- July 11: Kyiv, Khmelnytsky regions;
- July 12: Donetsk, Chernihiv, Odessa regions;
- July 16: Zaporizhia, Vinnytsia, Rivne regions;
- July 18: Volyn, Lviv; Chernivtsi regions;
- July 19: Ternopil; Poltava, Kherson, Zakarpattia regions;
- July 23: Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Nikolaev regions;
- July 24: Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Sumy, Kirovohrad regions.
Measurements are not used for temporarily occupied territories.
Why is this necessary?
Thanks to such measurements, the Ukrenergo Dispatch Center will be able to see how consumers behave with constant access to electricity. Power engineers will be able to determine how much each region consumes in the summer without restrictions, and how much electricity each region requires for life.
The results obtained take into account changes in population size and location of enterprises.
Data analysis will allow us to further ensure a more even and correct distribution of the system’s available capacity between regions. In addition, we will be able to obtain more accurate data on how to develop the energy system, increasing its resistance to attacks. That is, this will allow us to more accurately determine where decentralized generation projects should be implemented first and calculate optimal solutions for each region.
How would this happen?
Consumption restrictions will be completely lifted in each region for one day. Since there is an energy deficit in the system caused by massive Russian attacks, at the same time in regions where measurements are not made on a specific day, consumption restrictions may be slightly changed. You can get more specific information about the shutdown schedules from the regional power company in your region. But energy companies will do everything possible to ensure that consumers do not experience additional discomfort due to the measurements.
At the same time, we note that if Russia repeats massive missile attacks on energy infrastructure and, as a consequence, a significant deficit in available power in the Ukrainian energy system, the implementation of regime measurements will be postponed until the situation stabilizes.
