More than 10 loud explosions rocked Rostov at around 3 a.m. Russian time, eyewitnesses reported.
Unknown drones attacked Rostov-on-Don. Russian “air defense forces” are allegedly operating in the city. The governor of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, announced this on Friday, July 5, in his Telegram.
“In the Rostov area, air defense units are working against several enemy air targets,” his Telegram statement said.
The governor added that information about the consequences is “being determined.”
Meanwhile, Russia’s public broadcaster Astra published the alleged moment of the UAV attack in Rostov-on-Don.
According to local Telegram channels, the fire started in the city.
Local residents believe that the target of the attack could be the local thermal power plant-2.
It was earlier reported that unidentified drones attacked the city of Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia’s Krasnodar region claiming to have shot down several drones.
Ukraine mass-produces long-range attack drones, which are used to strike strategic Russian targets at a distance of more than 1,000 km.
