Last week, rescuers and police in armored vehicles took about 1,400 people out of the city.
In the city of Toretsk, Donetsk region, which the Russians are trying to destroy using scorched earth tactics, about 4.5 thousand residents continue to remain. This was said by the head of the military administration of the city of Toretsk, Vasily Chinchik, writes Radio Liberty.
He noted that among the remaining population there may be families with children, although local authorities have conducted forced evacuations of families with children.
“Unfortunately, it has happened that when the parents officially left because of the checkpoints, we made the appropriate notes, but then they sneaked past the checkpoints through detours and paths and brought their children back apartments in the community to avoid being noticed… We often have families who are forcibly evicted for the second, third, and sixth time,” the official added.
At the same time, he noted that after an increase in the number of Russian strikes on populated areas, more people sought to evacuate.
“In the past week, we evacuated 1,378 people Thanks to the employees of the National Police and the State Emergency Service, they were evacuated by armored vehicles And all because the enemy is actively using aviation, destroying not only buildings of the residence to the entire surrounding infrastructure, therefore, there is a high possibility that the vehicle will be damaged,” he said.
Chinchik added that in total there are 9.5 thousand people left in the Toretsk community, which includes two cities, 10 towns and 7 villages.
It was previously reported that the authorities were planning to carry out a forced evacuation from the city of Toretsk, Donetsk region.
