Ukraine currently has 14 understaffed brigades, since the necessary weapons have not yet arrived from Western partners. Therefore, a counteroffensive is out of the question today – the Ukrainian Armed Forces must first hold the front.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in an interview with Bloomberg, answering a question about when the “stalemate” at the front would end.
Zelensky noted that the situation on the front is not a stalemate, but problematic – it can be resolved with the necessary amount of weapons and tools.
We have the desire (for a counteroffensive – ed.), but the tools have not arrived, as they say, – he noted. – That is, we have brigades without weapons, we have reserves, we have 14 understaffed brigades that do not have the appropriate weapons. Weapons that have already been voted for, that have been discussed. The packages should arrive, but they are, unfortunately, moving slowly.
According to Zelensky, “the greatest tragedy of this war” is that between the decision to provide aid to Ukraine and the actual fact, “we have a very, very, very long wait.”
