The Kyiv Court of Appeal has left MP Mykola Tyshchenko under 24-hour house arrest.

He tried to appeal the measure of restraint chosen for him on June 25. Tishchenko’s measure of restraint will last until August 23, Obshchestvennoye reports.

The State Bureau of Investigation announced that Tishchenko is suspected of illegally depriving a former serviceman of the special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kraken in Dnipro. If he is found guilty, he could receive 5 years of imprisonment.

On June 20, in Dnipro, a group of people, acting on instructions from Tishchenko, illegally deprived the victim, a former serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, of his freedom. He was held for a certain period of time and was inflicted with bodily harm. This was done by prior agreement of a group of people and with the use of physical force and special means.

The deputy was notified of suspicion regarding the fact of illegal deprivation of liberty of the victim. Searches were conducted at his place.

The Prosecutor General’s Office has approved a petition to place the MP under 24-hour house arrest as a preventive measure.

In addition, in connection with the aforementioned events, another person who actively participated in illegal activities has been notified of suspicion.

Today in court, Tishchenko did not clearly answer journalists’ question about whether the Temporary Investigative Commission is still active.

The Chestno movement previously reported that Tishchenko had been “checking” institutions for almost a year on behalf of the non-existent VSK.

In October 2022, Tishchenko initiated the creation of a temporary investigative commission on illegal deforestation in the Verkhovna Rada.

The former “servant of the people” even made a special uniform for his VSK, similar to the one worn by security forces.

At the beginning of May 2023, the Verkhovna Rada did not approve the interim report of the forestry commission, and it ceased its activities.

However, even after this, Tishchenko continued to travel to various institutions for inspections, hiding behind the VSK.

Members of the VSK, upon presentation of a deputy’s ID and on the instructions of the commission, may freely enter any institution, regardless of its form of ownership or secrecy regime.

But Tishchenko did this without being an official member of any commission. Moreover, hiding behind the VSK, the deputy reported on inspections of infrastructure facilities on social networks.
