The Kanal microdistrict is the easternmost part of Vremenny Yar, located to the east of the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal.
On July 2, Russian publics wrote that their troops had captured a high-rise building area in the western part of the microdistrict.
On June 29, Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Kirill Sazonov stated on air at the Kyiv TV and Radio Company that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had driven Russians out of the Kanal microdistrict in Vremenny Yar and destroyed the Russian flag on a multi-story building.
Two more “fortresses” are approaching at once – Toretsk and Chasov Yar. Ukrainian military observer Konstantin Mashovets writes about this.
