The bloc is seriously concerned about the deepening cooperation between the DPRK and Russia, which is a grave violation of many UN Security Council resolutions.
The European Union condemned North Korea’s launch of ballistic missiles and cited it as one of the violations of UN Security Council resolutions. The EU Spokesperson announced this on Tuesday, July 2.
“The EU once again calls on the DPRK to cease all illegal actions that threaten regional and international peace and security. We call on the DPRK to accept the offers of dialogue from relevant parties and fulfill its obligations in accordance to UN Security Council resolutions for the complete and irreversible abandonment of its nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles,” the statement said.
The European Union has stressed that it is concerned about the deepening cooperation between the DPRK and Russia, and has also opposed North Korea’s arms shipments to the Russian Federation.
“We once again call on the DPRK and Russia to stop illegal arms supplies,” the spokesman stressed.
The EU stressed that it is ready to work with all partners to facilitate a meaningful diplomatic process aimed at the complete, verified and irreversible denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
As you know, on June 19, the leaders of Russia and DPRK Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un signed an agreement on a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
ISW analysts said they have not yet seen reports indicating that North Korean troops intend to participate in combat operations in Ukraine.
